This council is a legal entity established under the Decentralization Act of the Maldives. It consists of 3 councilors elected by the vote of the island's residents. Furthermore, a council administration made up of civil service staff has been established to implement the decisions made by the council. The services of this institution are aimed at the residents of the island.
